Two paths through a tangled Japanese forest

Two paths through a tangled Japanese forest by Trey Ratcliff CC by nc sa

Goodbyes to good people are never easy.  The staff at BrightCookie live up to the company name and Leo and the crew are passionate proponents of open source software. The geek vibe runs strong as does the addiction to good coffee. ; ) Working with a range of clients has been fun and challenging, and I think it has helped me to be more agile-minded in terms of troubleshooting and what is possible.

In two weeks, I’ll be starting work with Relationships Australia SA as an Online Learning Specialist, doing a wide range of work from in-house training and instructional design to Moodle admin and multimedia production. I’m really excited about the opportunity to jump the fence and spend time on the client side. The people I’ve met so far are high energy, articulate and positive and even in the interviews we had some great conversations.

I know I’ll need my PLN more than ever as I move into a new phase of work and learning and the challenge is exhilarating.

I’ll be working from home for the next fortnight then heading back into office life.

Cheers to all – you know where to find me online.

EduGeeks dinner montage On Friday, 10 June 2011, I’m organising a get-together for educators with a passion for education and geek leanings. If you are going to be in Adelaide on that day and would like some dinner plans that involve laughter and some great discussions, just let me know.

The details are:

The cuisine is Italian, the food freshly cooked (so it takes a bit of time, but worth it) with plenty of options for vegetarians and carnivores. If you are vegan, you may wish to contact them to find out about the rennet used in their cheeses.

I’m asking people to RSVP by Friday, 27 May so that I can give them initial numbers and ensure they’ll be enough room for us.

Because it is a small family-owned restaurant and it could impact them adversely if they turn business away to accommodate us, if you book and then cannot come, I’ll need to know by Friday, 3 June.

There are two ways to RSVP:

1) I’ve set up a Facebook event for those of you on Facebook .  http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=224853720864000 Go there, add a message to the board and add yourself to the event.

2) I’ve set up a Google form. It is embedded in this post. Please fill in your name and at least your email or mobile number so I can contact you in the event plans change.  My mobile will pop up after you submit the form.

If you can’t view it in this post, visit: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFBwMVB4enE4UjRzRUgwTnZKbXpYZUE6MQ
